Young man dies after being pulled from water at popular swimming spot

A young man has drowned at a popular swimming spot in Canberra’s south.
The 21-year-old man was swimming in the Murrumbidgee River at Pine Island in Greenway on Sunday with a group of people when he experienced trouble in the water.
A woman swimming in the area at the time told the ABC she had heard a man screaming from the water, saying “drowning”.
